Having Won The 2021 Formula Pro USA F4 Western championship William Ferguson looks to F3 in 2022

Beginning in the first race of the season, William Ferguson showed how quickly his pace had developed since his rookie season in 2020. Starting off the year with a 1st and 2nd place finish at Thunderhill Raceway Park, the World Speed Motorsports crew proved to once again be a force to be reckoned with. Continuing the success, Ferguson was able to grab another double podium with a 1st and 2nd place finish at Laguna Seca. The following race at Sonoma Raceway, the VMB Driver Development pilot scored back to back pole positions and a double podium finish once again. At both Portland International and Laguna Seca for the following two race weekends, Ferguson went home with 2 pole positions, 2 race wins and 2 fastest laps to top it off. He went on to Thunderhill for the final race of the season and dominated the weekend, making that his 3rd weekend sweep in a row. Totaling 6 pole positions, 6 race wins and 6 fastest laps in a row, Ferguson finished out the season with major momentum heading into 2022

Looking back on the Formula Pro USA F4 Western championship, there were tons of great battles between Ferguson and Athreya Ramanan. Duking it out at every race this season, the two young drivers put on a show. Ramanan was able to grab a victory in round 6 at Sonoma Raceway and finished out the championship in 2nd place. After multiple victorious weekends and from the hard work of the World Speed Motorsports crew, William Ferguson clinched the Formula 4 Western Championship, even with one race remaining he was able to gather enough points to claim the number one spot for 2021.

Heading into 2022 we take a look at the multiple competitive teams in both F4 and F3, all with the ability to take it to the Formula Pro USA Championship. Will we see a couple F4 drivers move up to F3 or will any of our western competitors take it to the east coast big shots? Hopefully we see the same great racing we saw this year and even bring in new drivers. To all those who’ve been working so hard this year, we thank you for making this sport so exciting by continuing to push harder and go faster. On behalf of Ferguson Motorsports, we wish you Merry Christmas and the best of luck in 2022.
